Immigration Reform

Terminology is important. An immigrant is a foreign-born person legally admitted to the United States and having followed proper process.

The word alien describes someone from another country and dates to the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798.

Illegal aliens are foreign-born people who, by their action, enter the U.S. illegally, not possessing valid records or other immigration documentation. One who does not follow our immigration laws, is one who comes here illegally. Thus, the term ‘illegal alien’ is not rooted in politics but rooted in our laws.

Local aspects of this issue need to be dealt with. First, Minnesota is issuing 81,000 state endorsed drivers’ licenses to those who broke the law by illegally entering our country. With identity difficult to confirm and though they are told they are not allowed to vote, this entry level documentation agrees to who they are, giving them access to rights and responsibilities of legal citizens.

Take this an expensive step further. Did you know illegal aliens the have been prioritized over Minnesota citizens? Over the well-being and the at cost of our own citizens and veterans, illegal aliens are receiving costly services. These include:

  • housing,
  • medical care,
  • cash,
  • education,
  • clothing,
  • college tuition,

…and more, which is all paid for by you.

What would it take for you to sell your personal rights and benefits of your citizenship? Thirty pieces of silver? Unfortunately, our current State  Representative, Ned Carroll, supports giving these to those who wander into Minnesota. Ask Ned, why illegal aliens are being enticed with incentives, then  given better benefits than our homeless veterans.

While Minnesota cannot stop the invasion at our southern border, we have our own challenges. From 2022 to 2023 Minnesota and North Dakota US Border Control reported illegal crossings up 350% along our northern border. Whether crossing from the north or south, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, nearly 60% of these households are getting welfare and other entitlements. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/majority-of-non-citizen-households-illegals-green-card-holders-on-taxpayer-funded-welfare-study/ar-AA1m3Nhj

Dipping into our citizen coffers, why is Minnesota rewarding illegal immigration? Though Ned Carroll has prioritized illegal aliens over the well-being of our own citizens, my goal is to remove the incentive reward system drawing them here.

A Commonsense Approach:

  • If we are going to continue to allow illegal aliens the privilege of driving, their licenses need to reflect immigration status, and enforce the requirement of legal citizenship to vote.
  • Similarly, we make certain benefits go only to those who need and deserve them.
  • As originally set in 1980 for immigration we need explicit expectations, with enforcement, that those who come are not a burden or danger to society.
  • They must be economically self-sufficient, according to law, within 5 years and be off social welfare programs.

It is important to understand:

  • It is our right, and responsibility, to be fiscally conscious.
  • We have the right to know who is in our state.
  • We have the right to restrict access to the benefits of citizenship.

Our citizenship has zero value, unless we maintain our rights. I will stand firm against the current out-of-control situation, with a sane common-sense approach. I pledge, to the best of my ability, to protect and defend your rights.

As a top destination, secondary migration is another issue for Minnesota. Due to a record surge of asylum-seekers, from just New York alone, data released shows in the last two years nearly 1200 have taken free tickets to Minnesota.

Minnesota ranks 3rd in child trafficking

and ranks 3rd highest in sex trafficking cases. The State Department believes that of human trafficking within the U.S. every year, 72% are immigrants. Just last month a group of 51 unaccompanied non-English speaking children, with only the clothes on their back  (trafficking indicators) landed, unannounced, on the small town of Melrose (Pop. 3612)... With no answers from the authorities as to where they came from, who is responsible for bringing them, or who with or where they are staying and the children being registered and in school. Ask your DFL State Representative, Ned Carroll, what he is doing about reducing child trafficking with the incentives that lure illegal aliens to our state.

At the expense of our own citizens and communities, ask Representative Ned Carroll, 651 296 5510, why he prioritizes illegal aliens receiving benefits, over you, your personal needs, and your rights and our own at risk citizens by giving costly rewards to illegal border crossers.

As your State Representative, I will prioritize you, your families, and the citizens of Minnesota.

Representative Ned Carroll has proven he is okay with undermining our personal rights, which does not support our well-being. His support for illegal aliens is placing undue back breaking burdens on our communities, schools, medical systems, welfare programs, and our bank accounts.

For Minnesota and our communities, I will work to protect your well-being and protect the benefits that solely belong to legal citizens.
